Future support / compatibility roadmap for JetBrains Air #3028

That's a really good question, and to be honest, I don't have a concrete answer right now. However, as is hopefully apparent by now, I generally try to integrate things that could prove valuable and productive for IC users, whether those are JetBrains features, Salesforce features, or third-party tools in the ecosystem. My early thoughts are that Air, like Junie and AI Assistant before it, is primarily an IDE-friendly facade atop existing AI models and processes, and those models and processes use the same rules, skills, MCP servers, etc., as before. As a result, since IC can already help make those models and processes aware of Salesforce-specific rules/skills/MCP servers, many things should already "just work". The JetBrains MCP server already exposes the IDE's indexes -- including IC's Salesforce-specific indexes -- and makes the IDE's refactoring tools and such available to agents, so things like the OST, IC's static code analysis, etc., should already work as well. Interaction with the org will continue to require the Salesforce MCP servers. I don't plan to expose any of IC's functionality that uses the Salesforce APIs directly via a new MCP server since those features are already exposed via MCP from Salesforce proper. Anyway, those are early thoughts, and to be fair, probably naive thoughts since I haven't really gone deep on the idea. Is there anything specific that you're hoping to see? |

Hi Scott,
With JetBrains introducing JetBrains Air as their unified agentic development environment, I wanted to inquire about the roadmap for Illuminated Cloud.
Specifically, I'm curious about:
No immediate rush—just looking to understand your early thoughts on whether JetBrains Air integration is on the radar.
Thanks for the continued fantastic work on IC!
