Terms and definitions: Introductory text is incorrect #252
Comments
I am reviewing for publication, and this has not been fixed. There are cited documents within the T&Ds, but they are not what would be considered "given in the following documents." "Given in the following documents" refers to separately listed documents. All of the terms within those "given in the following documents" are considered normative terms of this document. I would not consider it a fatal error. Let me know if I should leave as is or wait for an edit. |
This is the standard ISO boilerplate. In any case it will to be fixed in the tooling and not in this document. |
OK. SMPTE has separate introductory language, depending on if there are
terms defined in the document and/or if there are normative references to
other documents.
Will leave as is.

The introductory text in the Terms and Definitions states:
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in the following documents and the additional terms and definitions apply:
However, there are no documents listed.
Only standards listed directly following the statement are encompassed by "the terms and definitions given in the following documents," and include all normatively defined terms in those documents. The statement does not encompass sources cited in individual terms in this document.
