👋 Hi, I’m Sankalp Swami

🚦 Transportation Engineer | Data Scientist | Tech Enthusiast

With over seven years of professional experience in transportation engineering and data science, I specialize in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and data-driven solutions that improve traffic safety, efficiency, and analysis. I hold a Master's in Civil Engineering focusing on Transportation Systems from North Carolina State University. I am currently pursuing a second Master’s in Data Science.

🚀 What I Do

• Traffic and Transportation Consultation – Designing ITS, conducting traffic studies, developing signal designs, and performing crash data analysis to enhance public safety.

• Data Analytics & Visualization – Utilizing data for predictive analysis, traffic simulation modeling, and statistical insights to support data-driven decision-making in transportation.

• Technical Peer Reviewer – Reviewing papers for the Transportation Research Board (TRB) and the European Alliance for Innovation (EAI).

🌱 Currently Learning & Growing

I'm currently exploring advanced machine learning applications in transportation and ITS, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in transportation analytics and smart city technology.

As the Director of Communications for the Young Professionals in Transportation Baltimore Chapter, I manage our website and social media, fostering connections and advancing the transportation profession. Additionally, I serve as a mentor at Future Focus to guide students from India in STEM and Engineering, helping them prepare for studying abroad.
