"soapui-5.7.0” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified #773
Comments
I have the same issue: “SoapUI-5.7.0.dmg” can’t be opened. You should move it to the Bin. also tried to install using terminal: |
I fixed it following this steps |
I have the same issues and I'm unsure how to carry out the above steps to workaround |
Same issue for me and my team. Brew doesnt work, git install doesnt work, installer doesnt work. Edit: all users (myself + 4) are on MacOS, version 13.4.1 (c) |
I have the same problem. This seems like an urgent problem as it looks like a smartbear security breach. Can someone please comment on this. Thanks. |
Same issue for me.

Hey all, Thanks for the report(s). The SmartBear team are actively looking into this and will update with timelines once we have more insights on a resolution. If users could update their bug reports to state which macos version, and processor they are using, this would be helpful in ensuring we can test against all affected versions. You may note, this is also raised as a SO question https://stackoverflow.com/questions/76757666/soapui-5-7-5-6-macos-installer-and-multiple-libprism-warnings-will-damage-yo we will provide updates in both places. Hope that helps as an interim. Yousaf |
Duplicate issue #772 ? |
I believe it is similar. I had the same problem as #772 when SOAPui was already installed on my system. This issue is related to MacOS blocking users from running an install to get the application on their system. Slight difference but probably the same problem causing both issues, imo. EDIT: Additionally, #591 seems to have the same issue description for an older macOS version. Perhaps the solution is the same. |
13.4.1 This DMG file can be avoided by downloading the ZIP version of the app from https://github.com/SmartBear/soapui/releases But then it fails with other errors (java18):
|
MAC OS 13.4.1 and MAC OS 13.5 |
macOS 13.4.1c, M2 chip
|
MACOS Ventura 13.5 |
macOS 12.6.7 (21G651) Monterey - the same issue. |
Hi folks, |
Hi @YOU54F - any update? |
There's a workaround if you don't mind using v5.6.1 instead. If you have v5.7.0 already installed, there's another workaround by installing updated javafx libraries. |
@hussam-qasem - how do I get the option to override malware protection? |
Hey all, Thanks for the patience on this matter. The SmartBear team is making good progression resolving. The issue arises from the previous JRE environment used in SOAPUI which is not working with at least the latest version of Mac Ventura. The team has updated JRE to Liberica JRE version. 16.0.2+7 and currently testing the application builds and installs correctly. Once all QA is complete, we will release new installers and update on the community forums. Please continue to update bug reports to state which MacOS versions and processors you are using so we can ensure we are test against all affected versions. Thank you! Tracking issues
we will provide updates in both places and more updates to follow in due course! |
macOS Monterey 12.6.7, Quad-Core Intel Core i7 |
I believe you also have separate issue with needing to use Rosetta on apple silicon (arm64) as the released binaries are built for intel (x86_64) |
@YOU54F, thanks for the update. Can you comment on whether or not their was a security / malware issue as part of this? The security team at my company needs details on why the apple certificate was revoked before we will be allowed to use SOAP UI again. |
Looking at the detail, both publicly and internally and taking a look at the actual package from the official download site, it doesn’t appear to be a malware issue. the brew installer formula has a shashum check so if the package contents were modified that would fail to install and it would detect the mismatch from when the formula was created. I’ll co ordinate with the team to sure that alongside fix and release notes, we’ll put out a public post with fuller insight into the issue and resolution that should allay your teams security concerns. hope that helps |
Ventura 13.4.1, M1 Max Thank you. |
Hi team! I can't run a fresh install of version 5.7.0 running Ventura 13.5 on Apple M2 Pro chip. Any ETA as to when the issue will be fixed (or is the only workaround possible to install the 5.6.1 version as mentioned on the SO post? |
Ventura 13.2 (22D49), Intel i7 still. Any ETA for this fix? Otherwise I'll just have to arrange a Windows laptop if the fix takes even longer. |
FYI, this fix works for my case: https://stackoverflow.com/a/76771279/2421157 |
Good morning, |
Good morning! |
Hey all, Thanks for your continued patience! We are pleased to announce that we now have a new release 5.7.1 out.
Links are below.
Thanks again for using SoapUI and bringing the issue to our attention. Saf |
@YOU54F thanks for the v5.7.1 update! Just curious, is there any plan for a completely native Apple Silicon version of Soap UI in the works? |
Hiya @nickdavis, No plans from the team, but I personally would love to, both arm64 for macos and linux. I'd probably advise raising a separate issue for ARM64 support to allow for tracking. I'll see what I can rustle up in some open source time, as I have been on an armageddon misson, looking to bring in arm64 support across the majority of our Pact tooling (which is where I spent most of my time) and beyond. Also we might find others that have success running on arm64 platforms (if they are building from source) and can provide some advice or feedback :) |
Thanks to the Team we got an update with fix!❤️ |
I found the fix for it. we need to replace javaFX version 16 jar files with version 20.0.2.https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/org/openjfx/ |
In Mac OS newer Versions of SoapUI app will not install with message: "soapui cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified"
Already installed app will crash with message that “libprism_es2.dylib” will damage your computer. You should move it to the Trash.
