This information is used solely for generating an activation credential specific to the device and will not be used for any other purposes. Snipaste is committed to protecting user privacy and will not share this information with third parties.

Beyond this, Snipaste does not collect or store any personal data. All screenshots and images processed by Snipaste remain on your local device. It is your responsibility to manage and protect this local data.

3. Network Access

3.1 Microsoft Store Versions

The Microsoft Store version of Snipaste do not require network access for core functionality, except for downloading images at users' request.

3.2 Desktop Versions (Windows/Mac/Linux)

Desktop versions access the network only for the following purposes:

  1. User-Initiated Actions: Downloading images at your request (e.g., pinning an image from the internet).
  2. Automatic Updates: Checking for software updates.
  3. When activating, refreshing, or deactivating the professional license.

4. Telemetry Data

During update checks, desktop versions of Snipaste transmit the following non-personal information for telemetry purposes:

  • Snipaste version (e.g., Snipaste 2.9.2 x64)
  • Snipaste UI language (e.g., zh_cn)
  • Operating System version (e.g., Windows NT 10.0)
  • CPU architecture (e.g., x86_64)
  • System language (e.g., zh_CN) This data helps us improve Snipaste and is not linked to any personally identifiable information.

While Snipaste does not collect personal data, we recommend users take appropriate measures to secure their devices and manage their local screenshots and images responsibly.
