Migration to Python 3 is going to be necessary in the near future. Even though security updates for Python 2.7 will continue up to 2020 Django has already announced that Python 2 will not be supported for future releases.

Most of our dependencies are Python 3 compatible. The dependencies that aren't have to be updated or replaced.
