Hi,

Same problem here! Seems Synocommunity packages server denies the latest 5.0. Can't download any package.

Just got a Synology, and have the same problem. synology-apps do work

Ditto. Same problem "Failed to Download"

Any estimation when this issue will be fixed? Is it a "few days"-thing or maybe way more complicated?

I have exactly the same thing. It used to work on the DSM 5 bèta version, but not on the final one.

Same here with 5.0 final and a 1513+. I heard from someone with a 211 that also has upgraded to 5.0 but can still download ..

I'm having this problem on a DS1513+ I just updated to DSM 5.0, but not on a newly installed DS413.

Experiencing same issue on DS214Play with final DSM 5.0.

Hi.
I think I managed to fix this issue on my sinology+1513 DMS 5.0-4458.
The steps that I took are:
in package centre go to settings
next click on Beta tab and tick Yes,I want to see beta versions! and confirm with ok button below.
next go to Auto Updates tab and tick Update packages automatically
also tick All packages below. and confirm ok.
let me know if this woks.

@blu2lz
Copy link

blu2lz commented Mar 14, 2014

Thanks for the hint!

You just need to enable beta versions. Auto updates are not necessary.

But watch out for official synology packages with "beta" below the package name. Don't install them if you need a stable system.

Still this is only a workaround and not a fix. I recommend to enable beta, install required packages of synocommunity repo and disable beta afterwards. So you don't risk to install an official beta version and eventually crash your system.

The reason the normal procedure does not work seems to be that the 5.0 final is marked as beta in this repository. Thus a fix will not be complicated for the repo maintainer.

I had the beta already enabled. Unticking and ticking it again didn't help either...

Didn't work for me either. I have a 214+. Beta and auto updates were already ticked.

213j, hadn't enabled it yet, enabled the Beta but no succes. So this doesn't seem to be a workaround for (allmost) any of us.

Mmh, that is weird. With my DS214 everything works. I can reproduce it if I tick/untick beta updates. Did you check the logs? Same message?

I'm on a fresh install, did the rest of you update?

@tharealmb

i have a DS213j. I have ticked Beta Updates. I can also see Beta Updates from synology. But i keep getting the error message for SynoCommunity-packages. Other packages from synology work fine.

I'm on a fresh install, since i just bought the thing.

@rvanwijk

Yes - I did the update from the latest 4.3 to 5. A fresh install might
work, but I don't want to lose all my settings :-)

@jesses1983 : I'm not sure if I'm reading your message correctly, but in case you're still having issues: Most packages are available over here until the official repo is back up: http://synology.w01.eu/ (or directly in #886)
I think a DS214SE is armada370, so this link should work:

@RipNRun : could you try refreshing package list in Package center and download cops, version 0.6.2-1 was shown in package list but only 0.9.0-1 is available.

Dr-Bean commented Mar 21, 2014

@piwi82 While I'm at it, seems Debian-Chroot is working again too? Did a quick check on DSM4.3 and DSM5.0, and it's downloading again. (bromolow and 212+, btw)

@irotsoma

@Dr-Bean: Like @jesses1983, I also haven't had any luck with installing the packages manually with my DS214SE. I've been trying to get Python installed so I can install gateone since the python in the standard repository is slightly too old. But I just get an error every time. I tried them both from the repository and from @Wouter0100's site with no luck. Packages from the standard repository and from PCLoadLetter's repository work fine.

@Wouter0100

@irotsoma Which error do you receive when installing it manually?

Dr-Bean commented Mar 21, 2014

@irotsoma Let's move that discussion over to #886, if you don't mind :). I assume you get a different kind of error if you try to install the package manually. Might be because you're not using the correct arch, might be something else.

piwi82 commented Mar 21, 2014

@Dr-Bean : All package downloads should work now as I get no error using any architecture (I haven't tested all possibilities).

Great. Well, guess we'll wait for response to come in ;) I only had issues with Debian, although I haven't tested all packages either, just the most mentioned ones.

Thanks @piwi82 & @Dr-Bean, I'll test again as soon as possible. My quickconnect is down for some reason at the moment, so I'll have to wait until I get home from work.

If you don't mind me asking what was the purpose of the hashes in the URL - just obscuring the path or something cleverer?

This base64 string contained the data sent by Package center when requesting the catalog (NAS architecture, DSM version, time zone, ...) and was used for download logs.
I suspect this value to be too long in GET vars.

I can confirm all downloads working again on the DS213J. Thanks for all the effort!
