Here you can find builds for the very latest development version of Tauon.
You may want to use these releases if you want to:
- Get a fix for a bug that hasn't made it to a stable release yet
- Help catch bugs before they make it to a stable release
- Experience new features and changes earlier
Please report any issues either over at Discord or the GitHub bug tracker.
Note
Windows pre-release builds can be wrongly flagged by Defender, it is safe to whitelist them.
See #1062 for more information.
Warning
It may not be possible to go to an older version after using a pre-release build due to migrations, if this concerns you, backup your user data to be able to go back.

Tauon v10
Welcome to Tauon version 10.0.0, the most kickass update yet!
This release includes:
- A redesigned settings UI (super cool)
- You can now add items to queue directly from search (middle mouse click)
- There's a new in-app guide in the search overlay, because who know how it worked?!
- New smooth scroll support (enable in settings)
New layout option
You can now have album art in Columns view. You can also now have the metadata panel on the left side!
Wide mode Milkdrop in Showcase
Milkdrop is now supported in the Showcase view, with a new wide layout option as well.
Tauon's Milkdrop feature is now supported on Windows/Linux, still no macOS though.
New theme editor!
No more messing with text files, you can edit themes right in the UI now, no more having to copy and paste.
Bonus! A new mini mode named Signal (Just for fun)

Milkdrop visualizer support! ⭐
This feature allows you to load Winamp .milk visualizer presets in Tauon!
This feature is Linux only for now. It should work out the box for Flatpak users. For Arch Linux package users you'll need to install projectm-git from the AUR for this feature to work.

Other changes
- Added support for taskbar progress on Linux. (e.g. applies to KDE Plasma)
- Added A/B repeat feature. (Right click the repeat button to access)
- [macOS] Desktop now playing and media keys are now supported.
- [macOS] The DMG install process has been improved. (Still not signed though)
- Many small miscellaneous fixes.

New website!
We have a new website design. Documentation that was on the GitHub Wiki has now been migrated to the site for a more unified documentation experience. This should make it easier for contributors to edit the docs as well.
Spotify deprecation intent
Spotify are further restricting their API. As I'm no longer interested in maintaining this feature and public sentiment around Spotify seems to be trending downward. I'm once again going to look at removing Spotify support in a future release.
