useMutation without API call

Is it ok to use useMutation hook without API calls, e.g. some async tasks like copy to clipboard, read file, etc.?

I think it's perfectly fine. You can also do useQuery to read from async storage or so. It's all about async data - it doesn't have to involve api calls
