🛡️ ShieldX — A Vietnamese Student’s Fight to Make Cybersecurity Free for Everyone
Three months ago, I read about a small startup in Vietnam that was hacked.
They didn’t lose because they were foolish.
They lost because real security costs more than their entire company.
That night, I couldn’t sleep.
I kept thinking — why should safety on the Internet belong only to the rich?
So I decided to build ShieldX — an open-source shield for everyone who can’t afford one.
💥 The Harsh Truth
99% of startups can’t afford enterprise security tools.
Developers juggle 10+ tools and still sleep with fear.
Students like me only study security from textbooks, not real systems.
Open-source tools exist — but they’re scattered, outdated, and lonely.
⚙️ What I’m Building
ShieldX is my attempt to unite modern defense ideas into one open platform:
🧠 AI/ML Behavioral Threat Detection — so machines learn to defend themselves
🕵️ Dynamic Honeypots — to turn attackers into test subjects
🔒 MicroVM Sandboxes — isolate danger before it spreads
🧩 eBPF-based Monitoring — for deep visibility, without pain
🚪 Zero-Trust Authentication — because trust must be earned continuously
Tech Stack: Go, PostgreSQL, Redis, QUIC, OPA, eBPF
License: Apache 2.0 — because freedom matters.
💬 My Truth
I’m not a cybersecurity veteran.
I’m not a senior developer.
I’m just a 21-year-old student from Thanh Hóa, Vietnam, still learning every single day —
building this with hope .
What keeps me going isn’t skill.
It’s that tiny, irrational belief that I can change something —
and that maybe, someone out there will join me.
🧱 Where We Stand
✅ Alpha release done — deployable with Docker Compose
⚠️ Optimization needed (~100 RPS for now)
✅ Core services live (Orchestrator, Guardian, Ingress)
✅ AI anomaly detection works
⚙️ Helm charts in progress
🚀 Why I’m Writing This
This isn’t a launch.
This is a cry for collaboration.
If you’re a senior engineer, remember what it felt like when you were new — when you had more dreams than experience.
If you’re a security expert, you already know the pain of complexity and cost.
If you’re a student, like me — let’s learn together, break things, fix them, and grow.
🌍 My Dream
I imagine a world where:
A startup in Kenya launches enterprise security with one command.
A student in Brazil learns real security by reading our code.
A sysadmin in India finally sleeps peacefully at night.
A global community fights cyber threats together — in real time.
That’s the world I’m fighting for.
🫶 How You Can Help
You don’t need to be a pro.
You just need to care.
✨ Star the repo — it tells me someone out there believes.
💬 Leave a comment — even one idea can save a week of work.
👀 Reviecw the code — show me how to do it better.
🤝 Or simply write: “Keep going.”
That one sentence is often enough to get me through another long night of debugging.

“They say it’s naive to think one student can change cybersecurity.
But all revolutions start naive — until they work.”
