…#299) This should fix the propagation of Kokkos compiler flags added on Kokkos library targets using the INTERFACE_COMPILE_OPTIONS target property. Because Kokkos uses target_compile_options( ... PUBLIC ... ) and target_link_libraries( ... PUBLIC ... ) and TriBITS was using old-style target_link_libraries() with no PUBLIC/PRIVATE/INTERFACE, it was likely defaulting to PRIVATE so the INTERFACE_COMPILE_OPTIONS target property would not get propagated along. This behavior does not seem to be documented in official CMake documentation but it is documented in the book "Professional CMake 5th Edition" which says: > In particular, if a project defines a chain of library dependencies with a > mix of both old and new forms of the command, the old-style form will > generally be treated as PRIVATE. I have not tested this yet but I strongly suspect this will fix the problem of Trilinos customers linking to imported Trilinos CMake targets and not getting the Kokkos compiler options directly from the targets.

@marcinwrobel1986, there is not really much to review here. The real work will be testing with Trilinos. I will create the PR to update TriBITS in Trilinos next. |

But note that you can clone the TriBITS repo under the Trilinos repo and then use that TriBITS instead of the one in Trilinos when you configure Trilinos. See: (Looks like that documentation item needs to be updated. I will do that in my Trilinos PR as well.) |

@marcinwrobel1986, hold up, I am getting configure and (after fixing those) build errors with Trilinos after using this version of TriBITS. Let me worth through the issues. |

Brings in numerous refactorings to TriBITS over the last 3 months, but there should be no breaks in backward compatibility. Almost every file in TriBITS is changed due to the lower-casing of command, macro and function names in PR TriBITSPub/TriBITS#379. But the main driver for this snapshot is to bring in the change in PR TriBITSPub/TriBITS#413 that should make it so that Kokkos INTERFACE_COMPILE_OPTIONS get propagated to downstream targets in TriBITS and therefore to external customers through installed <Package>Config.cmake files and IMPORTED targets. I should have done several snapshots in the last few months and not done a big snapshot like this (but I have been testing with Trilinos locally along the way). The conflicts were due to the case changes in cmake command calls in these files due to TriBITSPub/TriBITS#379.) There was also a conflict in the file: * cmake/tribits/core/installation/TribitsProjectConfigTemplate.cmake.in I looked at that one carefully and I think that may have been due to fixes on both sides and then the case changes from TriBITSPub/TriBITS#379.
