When in deletion (insertion) mode and the Ctrl key is pressed, clicking on a base offset in a helix puts a deletion (insertion) at every helix in that group that contains that offset (and has strand(s) there).

This is useful for twist correction in flat DNA origami. (See https://www.dna.caltech.edu/Papers/stacking-bonds2011.pdf), which involve placing "columns" of deletions at regular intervals:
