REMBU (Urban Forest Evaluation and Monitoring Network) is a comprehensive platform designed to assess, monitor, and manage urban forests using advanced technology and data-driven insights. With REMBU, cities can effectively measure and improve their urban green spaces to enhance environmental sustainability and address the challenges of climate change.
- Real-time Monitoring: REMBU utilizes state-of-the-art sensors and a decentralized network of monitoring antennas to collect real-time data on various environmental parameters, including air quality, temperature, humidity, noise levels, and biodiversity.
- Data Analysis: The collected data is processed and analyzed using machine learning algorithms and statistical models to provide actionable insights and trends, enabling informed decision-making for urban forest management.
- Blockchain Integration: REMBU leverages blockchain technology to ensure the security, transparency, and integrity of the collected data. Smart contracts are used to govern data access, ownership, and monetization, fostering trust and accountability among stakeholders.
- Citizen Engagement: REMBU encourages citizen participation in urban forest initiatives through interactive maps, educational resources, and community engagement events. Citizens can contribute data, report environmental issues, and collaborate with local authorities and organizations to improve their urban environment.
- Scalability and Customization: The REMBU platform is highly scalable and customizable, allowing cities to tailor their monitoring and management strategies to suit their specific needs and objectives. Modular architecture and open APIs facilitate seamless integration with existing urban infrastructure and software systems.
To install REMBU, follow these steps:
- Clone the REMBU repository to your local machine.
- Install the necessary dependencies using
npm install
. - Set up the database and configure the environment variables as specified in the
.env
file. - Run the application using
npm start
.
Once REMBU is installed and running, you can access the REMBU dashboard through a web browser to view real-time environmental data, generate reports, and perform data analysis. The dashboard provides interactive visualizations and customizable dashboards to suit the needs of different stakeholders, including city planners, environmental researchers, policymakers, and citizens.
We welcome contributions from the community to help improve REMBU. If you would like to contribute, please follow our Contribution Guidelines. You can contribute by submitting bug reports, feature requests, code enhancements, or documentation improvements. Together, we can make REMBU a more powerful and effective tool for urban forest management.
