Issue
When playing Counter-Strike, i can no longer run the game at 144hz in any resolution other than 1920:1080, which is the native resolution of my monitor. I do believe that the issue is with the scaling, as all the scaled resolution have this issue.

In the Counter-Strike changelog, there were no information about the update.

I have also noticed that in "Mission Control", where counterstrike would open as a new fullscreen application, it is no longer doing so.

Steps for reproducing the issue:
With a Mac connected to a 144hz monitor, select a scaled resolution (any resolution other than the native reoslution)

Have you tried setting the launch parameters "-freq 144 -refresh 144"
They're necessary.

Yes, if not the native resolution would not work either.

How are you getting the refresh frequency that the game is currently running?
PS: I have an 144Hz monitor as well and the game seems to run well at 1280x1024 @ 144hz

Have you verified that 144Hz is supported by your monitor?
For examply my monitor only advertises 144Hz mode of operation on native 1080p...

   1920x1080 60.00 + 144.00* 119.98 99.93
   1440x900 119.85
   1280x1024 119.96 75.02 60.02
   1024x768 119.99 75.03 60.00
   800x600 119.97 75.00 60.32
   640x480 120.01 75.00 59.94

I'm running the same monitor at 144hz on the same resolution (1024:768) on windows running bootcamp, and it works just fine. Prior to the update i was also able to run it at 144hz on macOS.

In the manual it does say that it does not support 144hz on 1024:768, but it did work before the update, and on windows.

I can't say for sure, but I have a feeling that before the 64 bit update and the window handling changes that followed it you had the game set to 'Fullscreen,' which has since changed from using the scalar to using exclusive fullscreen mode. From what I'm reading, if you use 'Windowed Fullscreen' then the game should use the scalar like before the update, which should keep the monitor on the desktop's resolution.

Tele42 is correct. If you want to run at resolutions other than native you can use "Windowed fullscreen" which will allow you to use the same fullscreen method as used to be supported. Please file a new report if you have an issue after doing this.
