WPInfo is an equivalent (or near equivalent) to the BGInfo program first created at SysInternals. Since SysInternals was purchased by Microsoft, there has been little change to the BGInfo utility - indeed, it often works very well. Over time, though, many have requested changes to BGInfo but those changes and bugfixes are not forthcoming.

Hence we now have WPInfo.

WPInfo does almost everything BGInfo can do; with the added ability to view and modify the source code, and it also includes some new capabilities (such as forcing a specific background size and automatically selecting the best image from a collection of images).
