Wingflight Configurator Snapshot 0.0.38

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 27 Oct 21:01

Support the 0.0.38 firmware (MSP API 22.15).
Add remote support: someone can help you with your flight controller from their own configurator, for settings, the CLI and flashing. Open Remote Support at the bottom of the menu. Share and give them the session code, and watch their screen until the session ends; or join with a pilot's code and connect to their port, listed as "Remote - ...". It works in the desktop and web app; sharing from the web app needs Chrome or Edge. Sessions are end-to-end encrypted, and Kill connection ends them at any time.
Stop the motors and release every servo and mixer override when the Servos or Mixer tab closes, on Disconnect and when the app closes. Overrides left behind used to hold the servos where the tab left them and block arming.
Flash and remap the FrSky Aegis Lite: the flasher writes the Wingflight loader and the firmware in two DFU stages and explains when the loader needs updating, erase chip wipes the board's whole flash and config, Remap FC and the Ports tab name its ports (S1-S8, S9 (TLM), C1, C2), and Remap FC shows it as an FrSky board.
Remove the GPS feature switch: the GPS tab shows whenever a port can carry GPS, and GPS Nav and the GPS speed rows show when the GPS source matches its port. Saving still sets the old feature bit for older firmware.
Add GPS diagnostics to the GPS tab: port, pins, state, counters and a hint, with a short status badge (0.0.38 firmware).
Offer only the GPS baud rates the firmware supports (9600 to 115200).
Show live FBUS/S.Port sensor readings (GPS, current, cells, ESC/RPM, XACT servos) on the FBUS Sensors tab.
Show the Thrust Vector tab again on Intermediate and Advanced.
Setup Wizard: offer PWM, DShot150 and DShot300 on the Motor step, with every other protocol under Other. DShot150 is no longer treated as a bidirectional DShot RPM source, and choosing it turns bidirectional DShot off.
Keep the header sensor icons up to date while connected.
Fix the web app running the previous build's code, or showing new text as raw keys, right after an update.

Wingflight Configurator Snapshot 0.0.37

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 24 Oct 07:14

Support the 0.0.37 firmware (MSP API 22.14). Flashing keeps your settings, except the Thrust Vector profiles, which reset to the new defaults.
Always show the Thrust Vector tab and the mixer wizard's Thrust Vector options, and stop the wizards setting the old THRUST_VECTOR feature. The Virtual FC's TV Hold gain matches the new default of 45.
Show FBUS and F.Port2 as one receiver option, FrSky FBUS, for the receiver and the backup RX. The firmware finds the speed itself.

Flash DIY boards with no published target from the flasher wizard: Detect picks the MCU's entry in a new Custom group, and "Read hardware config from board" takes the board's hardware setup from its CLI.
Keep the AM32 30° timing advance in ESC Programming: it showed as 22.5° and saving lowered it. Fix the Timing field showing blank and saving 0°.
Fix the ESC 4-way target select timing out.
Fix the Configurator hanging, for example in the flasher backup, after a failed serial send. It now disconnects.

@github-actions github-actions released this 18 Oct 08:55

Support the 0.0.36 firmware (MSP API 22.14). Flashing keeps your settings, except the Thrust Vector profiles, which reset to the new defaults.
Show Effective PID Gains on the Thrust Vector tab, following live adjustments on 0.0.36 firmware.
Show the live Master Gain on the Thrust Vector tab while an adjustment drives it, and stop the adjustment badges overlapping the next column.
Link the servo Rate across servos that share a hardware timer: changing one sets all of them, and notes name the shared servos and any servo running at another rate than set. Remove the old S1-S3 rate warning.
Match the Virtual FC's Thrust Vector profiles to the new firmware defaults.

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 08:58

Support the 0.0.35 firmware (MSP API 22.14). Flashing keeps your settings.
Set the FBUS mux output modes (PWM, FBUS, DShot) in the Remap tab on STM32F7X2M boards such as the RF007 V3, with a warning where the firmware would fall back to PWM. The Ports tab and Setup Wizard lock the UART the mux uses.
Program XACT servos one FBUS mux output at a time, without rewiring: pick an output in the XACT tab, or Auto program every FBUS output to fixed IDs and channels with a 180° range. Each write is read back in full, outputs whose servos now share an ID are shown, and outputs with nothing connected can be set to PWM.
Give the RF007 V3 its own pinout in the Remap tab.
Fix flashing a Wingflight target config dropping its serial port and receiver setup.
Replace Expert Mode with Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels. Beginner makes the Setup Wizard the main tool with a short tab list; Intermediate and Advanced match Expert Mode off and on. Existing settings carry over; fresh installs start on Beginner.
Install each release line side by side on desktop, Android and the web; snapshots keep replacing one another until 1.0. Web builds work offline and can be installed again.
Update the Profiles tab's Effective PID Gains as you edit, before saving.
Name the servo, its type and the value to set in the Servos tab's Limits and Scales warnings, and warn on 760 us servo travel beyond +-250.
Add an Ethos guide with screenshots to the Setup Wizard's "A channel per trim" choice.
Describe servos 1-4 as aileron, elevator and rudder servos instead of helicopter cyclic and tail servos.
Fix startup stopping, with Connect never working, when the port list is empty.

Wingflight Configurator Snapshot 0.0.34

Pre-release

@github-actions github-actions released this 07 Oct 16:30

Support the 0.0.34 firmware (MSP API 22.14). Flashing keeps your settings.
Show and edit each servo's saved trim in the Servos tab's Trim column (0.0.34 firmware). It is read-only while a Servo Trim adjustment drives it, showing the trim in use, and on bus servos cloned from a PWM servo, which show that servo's trim. Clear trims and Move trims into Center act per table.
Add a third trim choice to the Setup Wizard: all the radio's trim buttons on one spare channel, read by stepped Servo Trim ranges, with a step-by-step radio guide (Ethos screenshots) and a live check of each button.
Show full-stick travel against Min/Max on every servo in the Servos tab's Signal column, counting servo balance curves and the saved trim, with a warning on a side that reaches its limit before full stick. A cloned bus servo that stops short says whether its trim or its Scale is the cause.
Set up flap servos in the Setup Wizard (center, direction and end points), and let flaps follow the ailerons on a 4-servo wing.
Warn in model setup when the board has too few servo outputs for the chosen layout.
Rename Axis Gain to Axis Throw on the Mixer tab.
Lay out the mixer rule list for narrow screens. A rule's Speed now steps by 1 ms, and Reverse is greyed out at zero weight.
Hide the GPS Speed (SPA) settings while the GPS feature is off, and put the Speed curve and its range on one line.

Wingflight Configurator Snapshot 0.0.33

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 06 Oct 07:57

Support the 0.0.33 firmware (MSP API 22.14). Flashing keeps your settings.
Hold the model in the firmware's SETUP state for the whole Setup Wizard on 0.0.33 firmware. Forced ANGLE and PASSTHROUGH, servo overrides and the Limits step's end-stop probe stay in the FC's RAM and lapse within 3 s if the app closes or the cable is pulled, so they can no longer be saved by mistake, and the Limits step no longer widens the stored servo limits. Older firmware keeps the previous behaviour, without forced modes.
Name the raw-stick mode PASSTHROUGH and GYRO OFF MANUAL, matching the firmware, and show the OVERRIDE arming-disabled reason as SETUP.

Add flaperons as a third flap option in the mixer setup, for conventional airframes with independent ailerons: the AUX1 flap channel droops both ailerons together. The Setup Wizard counts flap travel when it checks a surface for clipping.
Warn CRSF users on the Receiver tab, the Setup Wizard's receiver step and the mixer setup's Flaps section that ExpressLRS needs the Full Res 16ch Rate/2 switch mode, because Wingflight uses channel 5 (AUX1) as a normal channel.
Warn about MANUAL as well as PASSTHROUGH on the Setup Wizard's direction and gyro steps, naming the mode that is on: on older firmware either one stops the direction check moving the surfaces.

Wingflight Configurator Snapshot 0.0.32

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 04 Oct 19:13

Support the 0.0.32 firmware (MSP API 22.13). The firmware update resets every PID, thrust-vector and rate profile to defaults, so note your tune and rates before flashing.
Give the Setup Wizard's flying styles per-axis rates, pitch and yaw lower than roll: Trainer 150/120/90, Sport 250/200/150 (the firmware defaults), 3D 500/400/300 deg/s. Each card lists all three.
Narrow the Setup Wizard's gain knob to 0-150% master gain: fully down still turns the stabilizer off, center is 75%.

@github-actions github-actions released this 04 Oct 09:20

Support the 0.0.31 firmware (MSP API 22.13). The firmware update resets every PID and thrust-vector profile to defaults, so note your tune before flashing.
Add a Setup Wizard tab that walks a new model through sensors and level, receiver, airframe, servo type, motor, ESC telemetry, surface centres, control direction, binding limits, throws, travel, gyro direction, trim and gain knobs, mode switches and flying style.
Add the Prop-Hang Relax settings (strength, angle, fade-out) under PID Settings, and the PROP_HANG debug mode to the Blackbox list.
Limit master gain to 0-200% on the Profiles, Thrust Vector and Adjustments tabs (was 25-1000%). 0% turns the stabilizer off on that axis.
Show the new default P and I gains and snap relax hold in the Virtual FC, and say that snap relax covers yaw.
Match the firmware's GPS nav defaults: bearing gain 120, throttle 65%.
Add the Remap FC tab.
Let the CLI be left with exit or save when connected to the Virtual FC.
Keep the browser from translating the page back to another language after a language switch.

Group development builds by pull request on the web landing page, and publish previews of pull requests labelled "preview".

Wingflight Configurator Snapshot 0.0.30

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 01 Oct 22:45

Support MSP API 22.13 (0.0.30 firmware). The firmware update resets every PID and thrust-vector profile to defaults, so note your tune before flashing.
Add the Snap Relax settings (strength, stick threshold, entry window, fade-out) under PID Settings in Expert Mode.
Add Angle Mode damping to the Angle panel.
Show PASSTHROUGH as SETUP and MANUAL as GYRO OFF. SETUP is no longer hidden behind Expert Mode, since surface throws are set there.
Remove the Auto Hover and Horizon settings, matching the firmware.
Show that throttle (TPA) and GPS speed (SPA) attenuation now scale F and B too, floored at 25%, in Effective PID Gains and the help text.
Keep servo Min/Max as typed, and show how far each servo can actually travel at its center.
Add the GAIN_ATTEN and SNAP_RELAX debug modes to the Blackbox list.

Show only the modes in use on the Modes tab, and add others from a grouped, searchable picker. Adjustments work the same way: pick the function first, and the cards sit under collapsible groups.
Add the Smart Fuel alert level (landing reserve) to the Power tab.
Add an allow-arming-without-GPS-fix switch to the GPS Nav tab.
Label the GPS heading telemetry sensor GPS Course.
Fix the LED strip mode colours editing the wrong slots (Angle edited the Rescue colours).
Keep each web build's caches separate, so moving between web versions can't break the firmware list.
Fix the unsupported-browser banner never showing, the web port's receive meter reading 0%, and the flasher sticking when the FC ignores the reboot-to-bootloader request.

Wingflight Configurator Snapshot 0.0.29

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Sep 12:13

Support MSP API 22.10 (0.0.29 firmware). The firmware update resets every PID and thrust-vector profile to defaults, so note your tune before flashing.
Rename the Master Gains panel to Flight Feel on Profiles and Thrust Vector, with per-axis Master Gain, I-Term Decay and I-Term Relax columns and the Throttle (TPA) row always shown. A plain-language guide beside the table says what each one feels like and which way to turn it.
Set I-term decay time per axis in 0.01 s steps (0.01-1.00 s), and I-term relax as a per-axis 1-10 score (higher = less bounce-back). The relax on/off switch and type are gone because relax is always on, and the relax level is shown under PID Settings. Adjustment functions 114-125 use the same names.
Add a Gain Curves panel in Expert Mode (Profiles and Thrust Vector) to assign gain curves, including the new thrust-vector curves. Flight Feel shows a CURVE badge on any gain a curve is shaping. Expert Mode panels now sit below the main ones.
Add GPS speed attenuation (SPA): a Speed row on Flight Feel, the Speed curve and speed range (km/h) on Gain Curves, and TPA x SPA in the Effective PID Gains preview.
Set the F gain minimum to 50 on the PID gains table, matching the firmware.
Fix the Blackbox debug mode list labelling every mode from SBUS on two slots off. Unused placeholder modes are hidden unless the FC is set to one.

Complete the Virtual FC with firmware defaults and per-profile storage, and offer it on the web build as "Virtual Mode (Demo)". It stays out of USB detection, flashing and auto-connect.
Fix flashing into DFU: wait up to 10 s for the DFU device after the reboot instead of checking once, never open the board's disappearing COM port, and never leave the flasher locked. If DFU never appears, say so and point at the driver fixer.
Fix Update Firmware and the Flash button from CLI fallback mode, and hide the flasher's "No serial port selected yet" prompt while a flash is in progress.
Explain that DFU flashing needs Chrome, Edge or Opera in browsers without WebUSB, such as Firefox.
Show SD card capacity and free space in the header storage bar on boards without onboard flash.
Replace leftover Rotorflight and multirotor wording on the Welcome page and in the setup and GPS help.
