StreetEyes is your eyes on the ground, connecting the globe through remote observers. It coordinates people who want images, updates or video from a remote location, with people who can provide that on-the-ground real-time information via mobile phone. The app originated as a project for the ITP Mobile Web class.

As an example, the viewer is a student at ITP and wants to know how busy it is at school. The viewer taps a broadcaster’s icon on a map who is located at ITP. The viewer requests from the broadcaster that s/he broadcast a video stream, send photos, or write a short description of how busy it is at school. The broadcaster sends the multimedia to the viewer and uses chat/voice to coordinate the exchange, and the viewer ends the request after s/he is satisfied.

StreetEyes is being coded for Android 2.2, using PhoneGap & jQuery Mobile.
