opus-tuner 0.6.1

@github-actions github-actions released this 29 Oct 13:45

Cost control for long Claude Code sessions now tunes itself. This release
covers everything since 0.4.1: profiles (0.5.0), automatic savings (0.6.0)
and two fixes (0.6.1).

New

  • Dev and creative profiles. /profile swaps between dev (the default,
    adds nothing) and creative (no low-effort gear, no max-effort gear, a bigger
    context for long-form work, one ~100-token note). /profile show prints the
    exact instruction it adds, so you can check it against your own system
    prompt.
  • Automatic savings, no setup:
    • Everyday "why is" / "performance" questions no longer raise the session to
      the 250k ceiling; that now needs a second sign of hard work.
    • One oversized tool result gets a single short note on how to keep the next
      one small (at most three per session).
    • The at-ceiling note is said once, not on every prompt.
    • Each install mode installs only the skills it can use.
    • A weekly one-line summary of what the tuner did and what its gear switches
      cost. You see it; the model does not, so it costs no tokens.
    • If low-effort turns keep hitting failures, the low gear switches itself off
      for 14 days. Nothing ever lowers a ceiling on its own.

Fixed

  • The /wrap banner could be hidden when the prompt hook saw the ceiling first.
  • A compaction re-armed the once-per-session /compact refusal and the
    max-effort ration.
  • mode: off still wrote state from the tool hook.
  • The uninstaller could delete a user's own skill named wrap.
  • The skill pointed at scout / hand subagents that were never shipped.
  • audit.ps1 could hang when stdin was left open.
  • Links and badges pointed at the repository's old name.

Upgrade

git pull
./install.sh -Force # Windows: powershell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File install.ps1 -Force

Then restart Claude Code. -Force replaces the installed skill folders (they
are backed up first). Full details in
CHANGELOG.md.

opus-tuner 0.4.1

@YahyaLendani YahyaLendani released this 28 Oct 12:47

The doctor stops trusting one model name.

  • doctor.ps1 validated modelSettings only when the key was literally claude-opus-5-5. On any other model the check vanished, so an invalid effortLevel sat in settings.json while the doctor reported healthy. It now validates every entry and names the offender: invalid: claude-opus-6=extreme.
  • tests/link-check.ps1 (blocking) and tests/badge-check.ps1 (network, non-blocking) replace verifying links and badges by eye.
  • CI cancels superseded runs and every job has a 15-minute timeout.
  • README H1 loses the literal **.

opus-tuner 0.4.0

@YahyaLendani YahyaLendani released this 28 Oct 12:38

The build knows its own number.

  • skills/opus-tuner/VERSION is the single source of truth and ships with the skill. doctor.ps1 prints it and reports it in -Json; the installer and uninstaller print it in their banner.
  • CI fails when VERSION, the README status line and the CHANGELOG heading disagree.
  • First tagged release, so installs can be pinned instead of tracking main.
  • docs/platforms.md documents uninstalling on macOS and Linux; docs/troubleshooting.md answers 'which version is installed?'.
  • An issue form asks for the four things a hook report needs.
