Simple nodejs server to serve static snapshots of single-page apps to crawlers.
This guys are required to be present in your PATH
:
First, you need to run botmate server as a daemon. It starts on http://127.0.0.1:3001
by default:
$ git clone https://github.com/ZeroOneStudio/botmate && cd botmate
$ npm install
$ forever start botmate.js
Arter you need to configure your web server to catch requests with _escaped_fragment_
and proxy them to botmate.
location / {
...
if ( $arg__escaped_fragment_ ) {
proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:3001/?host=$host$uri&fragment=$arg__escaped_fragment_;
break;
}
...
}
Restart nginx and you are ready to serve static snapshots to crawlers. Yay!
- Cache snapshots
- Get rid of callback hell, DRY
- Tests
