A ton of good info here on how to take photos with an external photo app while keeping the photo in a private directory. This means we can maintain complete control over the picture without having to create our own photo-taking activity. It also shows you how to grab just a thumbnail of the photo, which might be useful for sending someone a preview but not the full photo: https://developer.android.com/training/camera/photobasics
