Adonis Cli fails to install

This started in the last couple of hours, it seemed to work beforehand. Upon installing the adonis cli, i get the following error:

npm ERR! Invalid tag name "dot-prop@npm:dot-prop-legacy@^4.2.1": Tags may not have any characters that encodeURIComponent encodes.

adonis cli version: 4.0.12
node: 11.15.0
npm: 6.7.0
