Advocada is a REST service providing access control tokens.

Advocada Organization

Advocada GitHub organization is the place where we organize the work of the Advocada project. The primary aim of the project to experiment with the Rust environment and to create an application that fits the enterprise application portfolio.

Rust is a new and promising system programming language. The team here is mainly interested in enterprise application programming, mainly with Java background. We understand that the importance of the language Rust will grow in the coming years and try to experiment with application fitting the enterprise portfolio.

The idea is that business agnostic infrastructure applications can be written in Rust. The microservice architecture makes it possible to integrate Rust services with existing Java or other services. At the same time applications that focus on a narrow functionality and need high performance can be ideal target for Rust development.

Advocada is a project that aims to develop such services in Rust. The core Advocada service is the attribute based authorization microservice.

The service is queried by the client applications to get access control tokens. Application may require signed access control tokens for their functions. The service gives the tokens to the client applications based on the stored state of authorization database. Using this token the client queries the application to perform the desired action.
