By removing default channels and adding a new one, you can fall in following case, the user has no defined catalog locale and the the whole navigation fail (UserContextListener.php line 120)

Extra info,

  • delete demo channels
  • create a new one with only the en_GB locale
  • create a new user

Another scenario is when in the existing channels the preset languages are deleted (en_US and fr_FR) and replaced for Dutch (nl_NL). If at this point the user is (still) set to the default locale English (en_US) an 500 error appears.

Thank you for the feedback !
FYI, we're fixing this issue by upgrading the OroPlatform and changing the extended user implementation to add our custom fields (locale, scope, tree).
Once the upgrade done, this case will be cover.
