A matrix chat room would be nice, Matrix is an open source platform for communication, and is already used by organizations such as Fedora, GNOME, KDE, AsteroidOS, Etc.

Currently it seems wechat is used which is not open source nor a standard like matrix,for interop there is a bridge service for it.

So WeChat and Matrix can talk to each other

Telegram is also used as it seems, which is yet another not open platform that can be interoped with Matrix
