In my recent pull request, I also included a new app-like UI for batarang that's similar to other chrome developer tools tabs.

Here are some screenshots:

I hope it gets merged. It can be improved even further but this is what I could have done in a couple of hours.

@aziz: impressive work! I have higher priorities than improving the style of the app right now, but I'll see about getting this in a bit down the road. Again, great work, and thanks!

Great proposal so far! Glad to see that I'm not the only one who think that the batarang needs a make up! :)
Taking a look at your screenshots, shows a little problem when arranging the devtools on the right side of the display. The vertical navigation isn't probably the best solution then.

Everything else what's currently in bootstrap style should also look more devtool'isch I think. But nevertheless, great work!

@btford Maybe it's also important to know if there are any other feature releases planned where new functionalities come in and the UI of Batarang would probably change (Things that are currently 'Models', 'Performance', 'Dependencies' and so on).

I really like the proposed UI changes.

I wish there was some way to just reference the chrome stylesheets.

I'm looking at merging this soon. Thanks again, @aziz! And sorry for the wait. :)

@addyosmani could you look into it? I would like consistent UI on extensions. Currently every extension behaves differently and the reality is that very few extension developers care about UI or UX.

(Applies to vanilla extensions too)

The devtools API look and feel has since changed, but this is now implemented in master. Thanks, @aziz!
