Arch Huang Individual Final #52

Very clever how you used conditional variables and an event listens to detect when a key was pressed. 2/2 I found it really unique that you could interact with the music. Your demonstration was AMAZING. You explained the code very well and I liked how you put the text of what keys you were pressing to make your demonstration easier to follow. 2/2 Your implementation of labels and checkboxes helps organize all our roles and duties so that we can all collaborate better. 2/2 One suggestion I have is to add some instructions on your black screen music game to help the user know what is going on. Overall, amazing job Arch! 6/6 |
Big idea 1 Deployment of Website: Did an exceedingly great job in explaining this challenge you overcame and presented problems you solved to help show your understandings of this project. Also, Because this topic wasn't exactly taught thoroughly in class, It's especially impressive you've figured out how to make this code function correctly. 2/2 Big Idea 2 Black screen: Had a very thorough explanation of the idea + in-depth representation of the complete process behind the creation of this code. Also presented a live example of how the code works while the website runs. 2/2 Big Idea 3 Signed Addition + Scrum board: Although this section of the video wasn't the longest, it was short and simple, helping me quickly by thoroughly understanding the idea at hand. You successfully showed your learning through the boxes in scrum board and code with unsigned addition which was an achievement I wanted to praise; great job. 2/2 Overall: 6/6 |
I think that you did a great job showing how you resolved the issue you ran into while doing deployment by actually show us the page where you found the solution with the command you needed to fix it "sudo apt-get install libatlas-base-dev". The use of conditionals and booleans in blackscreen to decide what sound would play when a key is pressed showed off your understanding of conditionals and booleans. 1.75/2 I also think that you adding the mario sound track along with its respective key in the game was a very nice addition, making it more game-like. For examples, the key w played the jump sound effect. 2/2 Finally, I think the checkboxes and the labels you added to the scrumboard was very useful, since it allowed us to easily see which tasks we have completed and which ones we still have to work on. 2/2 One thing to work on would be to change the navbar (only on this page) to also incorporate the blackscreen style by changing its white background black and changing the text into white (somewhat like dark mode). I would, however, also stress the relationship between your topics with CB a lot more. Overall, nice job! 5.75/6 |
You demonstrated how each big idea was utilized very well. The music was a unique idea. I also like how you demonstrated how you ran the website with a Raspberry Pi. A point of improvement would be to (not even sure if this improvement is necessary) begin with an introduction of what you're going to demonstrate rather than just go into it directly. 6/6 |
Arch, starting off with deployment makes me smile. That is hard to do as I am winding down on watch the last of my 150+ videos. The script is awesome, though the update last step should be doing "sudo systemctl restart mywebapp.service". as opposed to gunicorn which will run process locally as opposed to a system service. But this is awesome! Blackscreen is very entertaining :). I would have done this in an order as follows, "what is blackcreen?", "demo", then talk about "code". I was caught off guard with code description without context. The last couple of items have similar off guard issues. In all, you are doing great things. The video making and context of what I am looking at is missing. 5.75/6 |
