Feature Request: Map Chord Buttons in the Style of the Original Firmware #8

Thanks! I just put out v1.0 beta. The chord layout is different than the original (I like the new layout better) but if you like this type of layout better, I'll have Claude AI implement it :) One thing I don't know, that I barely remember from the original, is how the chords were laid out on the grid for different scales and modes (it never made sense to me). Do you know if there's a chart anywhere that shows it? |

Until then, TBOSS 1.0 gets you most of these chords with its center buttons: https://github.com/armandhammer/TBOSS/blob/main/docs/manual.md#center-buttons-and-shift-optional
It takes two hands, I know, and a held button lets go after about 5 seconds (it's a hardware limitation), so it's a stopgap until the Full layout exists. |

I do prefer that layout, and would very much appreciate its implementation. Here is what is probably a fairly comprehensive list of the chords, with notes, from the Theoryboard 444 Facebook group: Hopefully that is in a format that can be deciphered by the software or agents you're running. Thanks again for the work. |

Hi, I posted the same thing on the FB page, but wanted to put it here too as it might be more convenient for you.
I liked the way the original firmware mapped the chord buttons, with a variety of chord options for each interval and each key. For example, in major mode for the root chord, there are 8 buttons mapped to: the standard major triad, add2, maj6, 6(add9), maj7, maj7(9), sus2 and sus4. They basically threw in as many options within the key as they could fit across the 4x12 grid of buttons.

That layout was the magic of the device that made me want to buy it in the first place, and the current layout of TBOSS removes that immediacy that made it so useful for me. The ability to combine that smorgasbord of chords in any key with a chromatic layout on the right side would be the ideal setup for how I use it.
Thank you for developing this new firmware and making it open source. I have been using the other independently developed version, which has been pretty good, but I think the developer has become a bit overwhelmed with it and since it's not open source everyone is kind of at the mercy of his availability / willingness to work on it. This version already feels a lot more stable, so it looks very promising. All I ever wanted was for this thing to work properly as designed, and I'm still angry at the original Irijule company for hiding the issues then abandoning their customers (and blocking anyone on their social media channels who simply asked a question about a firmware update).
