I think this seems fine, but just so we're clear, you're saying remove this because we're recommending macports, anaconda or the like for OS X, is that right, @astrofrog? |

Right - we've never actually built a release dmg and as far as I can see I don't think we need to with Anaconda and Enthought. |

since .dmg disk images are no longer a commonly used installation mechanism (and hasn't been tested/used in a while)
