Made also a dedicated test/demo, SurfaceFlatScalarReflectivity

Wrapping up the work on the surface methods I have had in mind.
Simon could be interested in the last commit t. However, he is using v2.4 for the work of concern, so if the last commit could get into v2.4 that would be great. But we can also fix that on the side.
