手動設定して現在使っているもの：

view /etc/logrotate.d/redmine
/opt/alminium/log/*.log {
weekly # 週一回rotateを実行する
missingok # ファイルが存在しなくてもエラーにならない
notifempty # logファイルが空の時はrotateしない
copytruncate # ログを別名でコピーした後、元のファイルの内容を空にする
compress # 古いログを圧縮して保存する
delaycompress # 次のrotateの時にログ圧縮する
}
