Sluggish (MacBookPro10,2) #35
Comments
Which version of Big Sur? (Go to Apple Menu->About This Mac, and let me know the build number, which looks something like 20A1234x -- whatever it is, it'll start with "20A".) In any case, the MacBookPro10,2 is actually one of the models that I personally want to run Big Sur on, so I will be looking into this at some point. |
Beta 5. |
Thanks for letting me know. I won't get a chance to look at this immediately, but hopefully soon. (Probably not until after the v0.2.0 patcher release, however.) |
For what it's worth, there's a similar complaint in post #4,410 on the MacRumors Forum thread, but for the mid-2012 15" retina MacBook Pro. I'll try to look at this soon (on my 13" Late 2012) but for the moment I'm just making a note of this. |
So this morning I was able to try beta 6 on my MacBookPro10,2 and compare it against Catalina 10.15.6. (This was shortly before 10.15.7 was released.) Basically, the Dock icons bounced a little more smoothly during application launch on Catalina, but everything else was actually smoother and faster on Big Sur. In short, I failed to reproduce this bug. (But I won't close this issue yet. I'll make a couple more attempts later before I give up.) |
@vitwo I just had a thought: Is the the internal screen of the MBP, or an external monitor? |
It appears this issue, or something similar enough that I can't distinguish it simply based on the information provided so far, is happening on supported Macs as well (as recent as 2020 Macs): |
Maybe a problem in general but my MacBook Pro Late 2012 13,3 runs very sluggish (graphic).
Is this Big Sur or the patcher?
Thanks!
