Does this have an ipv4 fallback?
my router doesn't support ipv6 and I keep getting a socketexception

Works on my LAN. IPv4 on all devices.

I experienced a similar issue on my Linux NAS. mDNSResponder automatically builds with IPv6 which causes it to throw an exception. Try the new RPlay which uses JmDNS instead.
