I ran some of this by Greg, and one thing he was able to tell me was it should be possible for i5 and i7 entries to have different dates, although it wouldn't likely be the case.
Currently LabControl doesn't support this: both shotgun working primer plates (i5 and i7) are created at the same time, as a pair, with the same creation date attached:
The same issue would also apply to any other multi-plate primer sets--for instance, if the 8 plates of the EMP 16S V4 primer set were created across different days, LabControl would not be prepared to capture this.
We probably need to scope with the lab how often this case occurs to determine how much effort should be put into changing the LabControl functionality to accommodate it.
