Is it possible to add more features for mounted Multidocks?

Expamples:

  • Multidock is named "slot 3" - but as you know, there are up to 4 SSDs in the Multidock. I´d love to see by variables what SSD is currently in use.
  • I´d also love to be able to select the SSD I want to record to

In a nutshell: could you add all the features for SD-Cards/Slots to single Multidock SSDs?

If I can get my hands on a Multidock for testing then I will certainly look into this.

And may you also add varaible value Slot ID "NAS" when the recording goes directly to the NAS? (Last firmware update 8.3)

It's hard to know exactly how the Hyperdeck Extreme works, without having one to test, but from reading the manual it seems like media slots are handled in a similar way to the Shuttle, which I do have. So correct me if my deductions here are wrong!

It seems that there are a fixed number of slots on the device–2 on the Shuttle, and 3 on the Extreme. These slots can have different actual drives attached to them (e.g. SSD, Network drive). So even if there are 4 SSDs from the Multidock and a load of network drives connected, there are still only 3 slots. You just get to pick what is in each slot.

If that is the case then for Companion it gets a bit tricky as there is no (documented) command to select what drive/network volume is being used in each slot (and there isn't a dedicated network slot to label 'NAS'.

In the Extreme manual screenshots, Slots 1 and 2 and always shown as CFast cards. Is it only slot 3 that can be a USB drive or network share? Or can slots 1 and 2 also be assigned to USB/net?
