- According to CTU visual identity manual (in Czech)
- For paperback with 4 mm spine thickness

- Download and install Scribus version >= 1.5.5 https://www.scribus.net/downloads/unstable-branch/
- Open the .sla file in Scribus
- Edit the text (by double clicking on it)
- Center the center text on the spine
- Select all three text frames on the spine by shift + click
- Activate "Windows"->"Align and distibute" window
- In "Distribute" tab select "Make vertical gaps between items equal"
- Change the background color
- Add the desired color in "Edit"->"Colors and fills" (use CMYK)
CTU Visual identity manual recommends blue for bachelor's thesis, grey for master's thesis and green for dissertation - Activate "Windows"->"Properties" (F2)
- Select the background polygon (click on it)
- Change the fill color in "Properties"->"Colors" ("Fill" tab)
- Add the desired color in "Edit"->"Colors and fills" (use CMYK)
- If your spine thickness is larger than 4 mm you have to
- Change the page width to 420 + spine thickness
- Change the background polygon width appropriately
- Move the spine text, so that it is horizontally centered
- Move the front page text and symbol, so that the symbol is horizontally centered on the front page
- Generate PDF for printing
- "File"->"Export"->"Save as PDF..."
- In "General"->"File Options"->"Compatibility" select PDF/X-3 (or whatever you want)
- You can select "Crop Marks" in "Pre Press"->"Printer Marks"
- Change filename
- Save
