Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

The problems that this issue resolves are related to me being a dumb user. Sometimes I don't notice the following things until I see my post in the context of the published UI:

  1. a typo
  2. I missed the point of the post I to which I am replying
  3. I was rude
  4. I accidentally doxxed myself

Editing is coming, but via the AT protocol, all of my idiot mistakes would still be set in stone to the public, even after editing. Sometimes this is annoying, but in some extreme cases this is a safety issue.

Describe the solution you'd like

Add a user setting to the client which is called "Delay Post" with a UI similar to "Reply Filters."

Delay Posts
Enable this setting to delay publication for a set amount of minutes. Only you will see the post until the end of the delay. This allows you to delete (or eventually edit) prior to the post being made public to the world.

(Slider with 0 to 5 minutes as the scale)

In the thread UI, the age of post would display a negative value, maybe with a different color, until the delay has expired.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Editing and deleting, but neither of those ideas address the fact that the original mistakes are still visible in things like firesky.tv

Additional context

This feature is implemented on HN, and has saved me from public mistakes, back when I used to use that site.

See this post mentioning this problem, in a much more succinct way:

"sometimes i delete a post because i've grown as a person in those 45 seconds"

https://bsky.app/profile/illumi.me/post/3kbl4gc67aq27

Tools that Reddit is always fighting, such as Reveddit, Resavr, etc, will pop up for Bsky. i.e. "DeletedBskyPosts.com"

They will keep these users from "growing." This feature will allow personal growth. :)
