Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

I'm hesitant to reply to replies on skeets. There are cases where I don't want to clog up the notifications of the original poster by replying, especially if I'm replying to someone other than the original poster.
Or even worse, draw their attention to a harmful reply because of my reply.

Describe the solution you'd like

Other platforms like Xwitter and Mastodon make it possible to remove other people from a reply except for the direct person that's being replied to. On Xwitter this is done with checkboxes on the user handles, on Mastodon the list of user account names can be edited as text.
Both work fine.

Describe alternatives you've considered

My only alternative is to not reply

Additional context

Context is e.g. a person from a minority getting attacked via a reply and me wanting to tell the replier that their comment is not okay. The original poster doesn't need to see that.

I used this quite frequently on twitter. Doesn't have to be about problematic stuff: my reply can be relevant to only one of the people, not both of them.

(I think the UX on twitter for that was not obvious enough, though.)

We don't currently list all the people you're replying to in the data, so we'll either need to start doing that or we'll need to cook up a way to "fork" the conversation

This is an issue even with just mentioning people in a post. If I'm making a post like "Check out this thing by @user.bsky.app!" and then reply to that post with further info, I have no way of knowing if @user.bsky.app is going to be notified about every subsequent post or not.
