This is Social Media Basics, sorry but that's the true. Unfortunately a lot of updates are made and this question isn't being addressed properly.

Bluesky is open to everyone, do you know what it means everyone? Yes, even racists, homophobics, transphobics, bigots, internet trolls and other people who are here to just cause the chaos. And you don't need a valid email address to start posting, so you can make an account and just start harassing people with no consequences... (No, delete the profile isn't a consequence, it's the obligation of the platform to ensure a safe space)

So yes, my point is: WE HAVE to be able to private profiles, because yes, Social Media isn't safe from problematic people.

Oh, that's complicated to do? Ok, so let's have some other security features like:

  • To post you need a valid email and confirm that email.
  • Doesn't have an email? Phone, why not a phone.
  • The profile is taken down? The username now is dead and unavailable. To people know that "person" was banned.

Ok, that's it. I hope here we can discuss more about. I'm open to make and help Bluesky be better.

The incidence of bots or profiles with targeted attacks on various communities on the platform has been frequent and even though reports are made, apparently nothing is done.

It is very sad to not feel heard and that these demands for more security on BlueSky are not met.

A recent complaint in the community was about the Starter Packs lists, where users were added to the lists of an openly Nazi person and support simply mentioned that the person should contact the owner of the list and ask for it to be removed. Image of the response attached.

The points you have raised are not actually effective, and have been implemented previously or currently one way or another. You've essentially written a paragraph with a lot of nothing. It's also already well known that private accounts are on the radar.
