From June 2021 to September 2023, Brains@Play LLC developed software for building brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) on web browsers.
Brains@Play was founded to develop low-cost biosensing hardware and browser-based BCI applications.
While we originally promoted ourselves through uniform access to biosensing devices on the Brains@Play Platform, we began translating our monolithic product into standalone libraries in an attempt to simplify biosensing application development for all JavaScript developers. A record of this work can be found in the Brains@Play Framework repository.
With the best intentions, we abandoned our core product to develop "AGPL software for high-performance applications on the Open Web".
Over the next few years, we were unable to secure sustainable funding—and ultimately discontinued the partnership.
As of August 2024, Garrett Flynn and Joshua Brewster continue to independently release software for biosignal acquisition and BCI application development on web technologies.
