Enabling IPv6 is a poplular way to reduce data transfer costs. CI environments often download significant data from the Internet, and IPv4 networks using a NAT Gateway incur per Gb charges that add up. Downloading data from the Internet over IPv6 is typically uncharged by AWS.
From version 6.220 the elastic stack has great support for running on dualstack and IPv6-only subnets. We should document it though, the tricks are not obvious.
