Issue Description

I have enabled OSD as seen in the preferences, however the OSD will not completely disappear after the timeout. The volume indicator fades out, but it leaves behind the black background (see screenshots).

Changing Volume, OSD shows up as expected

Please let me know if I can provide any other information to help debug and resolve.

I have the same problem, after timeout a black square is remaining with volctl 7.1. Arch Linux, volctl installed with yaourt. I use jwm-git s1685.r8.71c1549-1. But this is a small issue, because I can disable OSD. The big issue is with the slider, sometimes when I open it, it opens in the top left corner and it does not disappear after timeout. However; this does not always happen, sometimes it works.

I think an alpha channel is needed (X11 composite extension). That depends on the WM in use. I'll investigate and deliver a fix for non-compositing WMs.

@justaquestion Do you mind opening a separate issue for the slider window? See #30
