Reported by @CableErector

If the key combination: Ctrl+Q is held for a period of time the tabs close and then a lot of new tabs spawn and freeze Firefox, while Firefox is frozen it gradually eats memory out resulting in the need of terminating Firefox.

Specs:
Target: i686-pc-mingw32
Build: https://hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-release/rev/dc617d65c9f0cdbbe4351cc1e5c288b05f25f8f7

@CableErector is this happening on Windows ? I'm asking because "Ctrl+Q" does nothing on windows and I believe that this shortcut was removed intentionally.
Instead with "Ctrl+W" I managed to do something that resembles your report. I wanted to log it but found yours and since they look alike, maybe it's the same problem.

However, this is quite bad, and very easily reproducible if you use the keyboard shortcut to close all tabs. This will surely occur each time if you hold the combination to long. The browser becomes unusable and needs to be restarted each time.
As an additional note, this only happens if you don't have any pinned tab.

If this is not the same issue, let me know and I'll log a separate one.
