Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Assuming most users do not actually work in both worlds (cloud and platform), having both around can be a source of continued confusion (cf. #2283).

Describe the solution you'd like

  • As a user I'm able to disable the parts of the UI I do not need (i.e. as a platform user I may disable the zeebe bits).
  • At any point in time I'm able to re-enable previously disabled platform via the UI (i.e. a preferences page)
  • We track this setting via E.T. to better understand the user need

Describe alternatives you've considered

Keep things as is. With future Modeler versions there exists at least two flags to disable either Platform (--disable-platform) or Cloud (--disable-zeebe) via a feature flag. It is not documented to my knowledge though.

Additional context

We could prominently enable / disable a platform via the Welcome Screen:

For reference, this is the welcome screen in the latest released Camunda Modeler version (v4.12):
