Do you mean the v1.0.0-rc.0? If yes: we know, we have to setup a CI to build the proper tarball automatically.

will fix it for the next rc (or the final), in the meantime, you can use git clone -b v1.0.0-rc.0 --recursive https://github.com/cp2k/dbcsr.git to get the same content as in the tarball, plus Fypp.

the building blocks are as follows:

• create a machine account to avoid coupling the required OAuth token to my account: https://developer.github.com/v3/guides/managing-deploy-keys/#machine-users
• follow Travis' GitHub Release Uploading to upload the tarball on tagging
• the before_deploy can then be used to to run git archive either directly or as a target in our build system which would allow to build a complete tarball easily without the CI, see also this nice blog entry
