AB includes a patched JSON (de)serializer: https://github.com/crossbario/autobahn-python/blob/master/autobahn/wamp/serializer.py#L144

This supports the transparent transport of binary payloads.

And this should be used not only on regular WAMP transports (WebSocket/RawSocket), but also on the REST bridge:

https://github.com/crossbario/crossbar/blob/master/crossbar/adapter/rest/common.py#L145

And also on the Longpoll Web resource.
