Bug description
Gill's commentary will not install.

Not sure if this is an issue with the BibleTime software or the Gill Commentary which comes from the Xiphos library.

Steps to reproduce
Settings > Bookshelf Manager > Install Additional Works (uses Internet)
Select 'Gill' version 1.4 (John Gill's Expositor) from 'Commentaries' list > Install Works.
The program either crashes, or says 'the selected works were not installed'

There is a gill.conf file in /.sword/InstallMgr/20090514005900/mods.d, but Gill's commentary does not load in the bookshelf upon restarting BibleTime.

I've uploaded it here (changing .conf extension to . txt):
gill.txt

Expected behavior
Commentary installs, no crash.

System information:
OS and OS version: Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon
BibleTime Version: 3.0.2
How BibleTime was installed: Installed from 'Software Manager' (mininstall 8.2.9) - not the flatpak

I succeed to install it on xiphos. Should be a BT issue. But on my system I succeed either on BT to install Gil. It can be an internet issue.

I installed Xiphos 4.2.1 today from software manager and the install failed there also.

So I tried to install other works in Xiphos repository, using Xiphos software, and they all failed including commentaries by Augustin, Kretzmann and and Biblical Text BSB draft. Installing works from all other repositories such as Crosswire and Bible.org works.

i truly don't understand this. i'm watching xferlog on the xiphos repo host, and it's nearly continuously busy with people downloading things. a 30sec sample from the past hour, showing being perfectly functional:

as a workaround, i could suggest manually obtaining the *.zip using ftp to ftp.xiphos.org, and finding modules you need in directory pub/xiphos/zip to download as a single file, then unzip the retrieved content while in your ~/.sword directory.

sometimes i think there are just corners of the network that get unhappy for no good reason, and perhaps you're in one of those corners.

Thanks for reply. I am an ftp noob and couldn't get it working in terminal. Login failed after ftp ftp.xiphos.org. I suppose there is no online link to download that zip? Couldn't find one at xiphos.org.

After you mutter ftp ftp.xiphos.org at the terminal, login with username ftp and then use any "password" you like (supplied password doesn't matter for anonymous login with username ftp).

Thanks, log in is now successful but I'm still missing something to retrieve the files.

After login I lcd to downloads folder, then
cd pub which gives:

250-Publicly available resources here:
250-
250-/pub/xiphos Sword modules and related resources.
250 Directory successfully changed.

Then try:

ftp> get *.zip
local: *.zip remote: *.zip
229 Entering Extended Passive Mode (|||42240|).
550 Failed to open file.

And:
ftp> mget *.zip
Which doesn't come up with any fail message, but also doesn't result in anything being downloaded to my downloads folder.

The same is also true if I cd pub/xiphos before typing the mget command, and also true if I type mget gill.zip or get gill.zip

Where am I going wrong?
