If you get HTML crap in OTR sessions from your peers that's a known bug - although not of irssi-otr but of your peer's IM client.

I'm not sure about the new release... should test it.

There is no more html tags for now... irssi does not handle them very
well...... so I now only uses the ?OTRv23? tag instead of the default
message provided by libotr which adds html tags.
