@rufnut: in the ic9700.txt you are using "VFO Up/Down: Main Up Sub Down" in the radio settings.
But when you are in satellite mode it is "VFO Up/Down: Main Down Sub Up". That's the way i use it here. can you confirm this?

Great, thanks Andy.
"VFO Up/Down: Main Down Sub Up" is now what I use.
I should have checked this after my last update.
Now the pseudo "memory tune" when I press "engage" does not cause the VFO to swap.

Please feel free to swap the or change the documentation.
Thank you both for your help, the program looks much more appealing than the windows applications I have seen.

Hi Andy, thank you,

The VFO flip occasionally happens still but I always mem to vfo load as we were before.

If I get time I will try rigctl with the added debug switches.

I use gentoo and have managed to get stable git compiles with hamlib 4+

  • GNU info directory index is up-to-date.

!!! existing preserved libs:

    • /usr/lib64/hamlib/libhamlib.so.2.1.3
  • used by /usr/bin/grig (media-radio/grig-0.8.1)

  • used by /usr/bin/wsjtx (media-radio/wsjtx-2.1.0)

Use emerge @preserved-rebuild to rebuild packages using these libraries

Unfortunately some other patches will be needed for the above library rebuilds. :-)

I am also looking at gqrx and trying to get things running above python 2.7 which is being declared redundant on gentoo linux.

Not sure about the PM or emails , I am pretty new too.

have fun,
