This is a public alpha. It is an experiment for developers, not a production operating system.

The image is 02_OS-2026.10.24-x86_64.iso, built from deeb7056cbccb0be1a36a3a71f931a1be9d4beeb.

Sign in to the live desktop as live / live. Launch "Install 02_OS" to start the provisioner.

Since v2026.10.01

• Zero Portal plays once at the login screen, then the normal sign-in is used.
• The product name in os-release and the boot menu is 02_OS.
• The desktop is GNOME 51 with Pop Shell tiling, Dash to Dock, and the 02 agent runtime.
• Chrome and Brave are preinstalled.
• The agent runtime includes the fixes merged through the repository audit.

Checked before this release

• Host formatting, clippy, Rust workspace tests, and 184 Python tests on deeb705.
• UEFI software live boot, sign-in as live, empty failed-unit lists, 02-agentd active, and the desktop extensions loaded.
• BIOS software live boot with the same checks. The BIOS menu title is 02_OS.
• Fresh UEFI unencrypted ext4 install, reboot from the disk with the ISO removed, and sign-in on the installed system. The installed boot entry is 02_OS (linux).

Not checked: physical hardware, a BIOS installation, and an encrypted disk.

02_OS v2026.10.01 — public alpha

This is a public alpha live image. It is an experiment for developers, not a production operating system.

The image was built with ./build.sh from commit 4999a52a5d2c6673a1f354e874c910dd63b68903. The build exited 0. Packages were downloaded from https://mirror.23m.com/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch. QEMU boot was not run, so this release does not claim that the live session reaches GNOME.

Since v2026.09.26

• ./build.sh is the only supported image build. It stages 02 and 02-agentd, checks them against the source build, and the image refuses a manual mkarchiso that lacks that stamp.
• "Install 02_OS" starts archinstall with the 02_OS plugin. The plugin copies the 02 desktop, agent binaries, user daemon, and branding onto the target after the base install and again after the desktop packages.
