Major bug in OS X

I found that the app is crashing the whole system quite consistently on my mac. Is there any kind of logging so we can see what it's going on?

crashing the whole system? what version are you using?
when happend? when you start a movie? a serie? when you open the program?

Mavericks 10.9.2 I might take a look at it over the weekend. Nobody else has this issue?

The whole system freezes and I can't do anything but restart the computer. I've seen this several times while using the app and very rarely otherwise.

I built it from the code in master and made a change to the max connections on the torrent client so it doesn't freeze my router. I checked out the code last week so I'll try to build it again with the latest changes and tell you about it.

what versions are you using to build the app? you used the correct ffmpegsumo?
its unlikely an app bug can hang the system.

Maybe u find a way to get a virus or trojan inside your mac, one that affects either safari, chrome, or nodejs.
Try updating nodejs and nw

What I did was download the app, show its contents and modify directly the number of max connections.
Now, I've just downloaded the app and followed the steps on the readme file, I am getting the following error:

2014-04-09 11:11:47.754 node-webkit Helper[837:507] Internals of CFAllocator not known; out-of-memory failures via CFAllocator will not result in termination. http://crbug.com/45650

Update: It was a problem of using nodewebkit 0.9.2 and not the default on npm.

Anyway, is there a way to build the app just like with popcorn-time app?

The same is happening on my mac too. It is version 0.1 Beta (0.1b) and I downloaded it from cuevana.tv. I start watching some series and ~30mins later the whole screen freezes and you cannot do anything.

Me too, the all the system freeze in Mavericks 10.9.2.

@sergio391 @frkncngz @kas84 can you please try again with latest changes? We are now using a new version of peerflix, that might have helped.

Same issue here, Mavericks 1.9.2 later updated to 10.9.3.

First time it freezed was completely unresponsive so I had to force reboot. On later freezes I just waited and after a while (half a minute to a minute) it unfreezes and let me quit the application. The thing is that even after I quit Cuevana Storm it continues freezing a couple of times until it normalizes.

I compiled it myself from master and haven't had an issue since. Must have
been the outdated build.

I have two macs at home and same shite happens in both machines.

Guys… please, re-think twice about releasing software that will crash and/or cause a damage to people's computers. PLEASE, re-considere to take this app off the web.

We haven't had any of those issues (and have tried in several macs and different OS from Lion to Yosemite).
In any case, we have rewritten the entire application, fixing the majority of issues some of you have reported, and will be publishing it very soon.

It happens when freshly installed. Try testing on the platforms that never had installed Cuevana Storm before. I have reinstalled just after the issue appeared and it's gone.
